  2. PSR SMA - Summary EIDP (including GSFC, IRAP, LASP) flight travel books have been reviewed, all open items are identified by SSL and GSFC and are tracked – cont. Hardware and Software are in good shape Configuration Control is in place and working No parts or materials issues No major issues during built-up – Exception: SWEA No major non-compliance exists – Exception: SWEA PFR’s: Jorg Fischer Testing and Verification: David Curtis Software code Status & GSE: Peter Harvey SSL Safety: Jorg Fischer, Safety: LM

  3. SMA SUMMARY Workmanship SMA supported PMB, PWA fabrication, assembly modifications, tuning efforts, repair/rework, box integration, and training (training at JPL, RMV, and informal in-house) Configuration Management FHW – Checked FLT Binder documentation and PFR status to confirm readiness, before start of testing FSW – ongoing support of informal and formal reviews, walk-throughs, and monthly reports Documentation Control – Performed FLT document reviews, and updates Work Order Management Travelers – Reviews performed by SSL QA and GSFC QA Procedures – Performed procedure reviews Inspections – Ongoing - Performed by SSL QA and GSFC QA.

  4. SMA SUMMARY Metrology & Calibration Performed the monthly checks (Tools and Certifications) – no issues. Scanned 100% of all certifications for EIDP delivery. Training Performed certifications review – no issues Cleanroom, PP, ESD, and Documentation training – no issues Held SSL Safety Training Meetings LM Training for SSL team members to meet LM in-house requirements might be necessary. Contact with C. Love - in progress. LL: Suspect counterfeit awareness training is planned for SMA and purchasing personnel - NA-HQ-2012-00 PFR-NCR SPR-SCR System PFR-NCR database revised and updated, documentation - in progress SPR-SCR list revised and updated, documentation - in progress

  5. SMA SUMMARY • Quality • Inspections of all FLT unit assemblies, PWA, boxes, and harnesses – ongoing. All issues are documented in PFR System. • Testing - Provided support for offsite testing, such as, EMC, Vibration testing setup and testing. Supported In-house testing, such as, TVAC set-up and testing of the instruments • Supported of LASP EUV efforts at SSL • Continuous inspections of Flight assembly, cleanroom, and test areas by SSL and GSFC QA • Supported PW board modifications/tuning and rework/repair • Supported integration and de-integration activities of the Instrument Stacks (PFDPU, SWEA, SWIA, SEP, LPW, STATIC)

  6. SMA SUMMARY • ESD Control • Implementation, equipment, maintenance, measurement, and training are addressed in the SSL ESD Control Plan (Rev. B) • Supported the annual independent ESD Control verification and performed the monthly survey – no issues • SSL MAVEN team ESD training was performed, as required • Material Processes and Parts Control • Updated EEE parts, Flight fastener, and Materials databases • As-built BOM documentation. ABPL for all instruments are complete • Alert response reports (GIDEP) – Provided disposition and updated the alert response database – no issues (ref. GIDEP slide) • Polymerics – Updated mix record database. Performed polymeric witness sample testing, filing, inspections, and documentation.

  7. SMA SUMMARY • Facilities/ Equipment • Continuous inspections of Flight assembly, vendor and in-house test areas by SSL and GSFC QA • Provided cleanroom support - cleaning of parts, continuous supplies, and maintenance, for all MAVEN cleanrooms • Industrial Safety: Provided support of chemical, hazardous waste inventory and UCB EH&S interaction • Delivery Readiness • End Item Data Acceptance Package – ongoing • Reviewed LM AIRR list – ongoing • Support of shipping effort

  8. PFR, ECN, Waiver, MUA Overview Anomalies/PFR/NCR 37 NCRs and 82 PFRs issued – STATUS next slides ECN/ECO 18 ECN/ECO issued, All closed WAIVERS, CCR 42 Waivers issued. Closure of all to be confirmed MUA 5 MUAs issued, Closure of all to be confirmed

  9. SMA - MRB • MRB System • PFR status report list sent to GSFC – weekly • PFR-NCR System will serve as a Lessons Learned System • Provided assistance to SSL engineers with PFR documentation and related item close-out

  10. SMA - MRB Anomalies/PFR/NCR – STATUS of six (6) open PFRs PFR 105,   EUV Temp Sensor Noise is open – LASP EUV - Waiting for thermal test PFR 108,    Operational and Actuator CE03 exceedances - PFDPU     - Waiting for Waiver to close PFR 109,   MAG Heater CE03 exceedance  - PFDPU     - Waiting for test data with the filters PFR 111,  MAG Sensor CS101 MAG susceptibility - PFDPU MAG Sensor FM1,2 -  Waiting for test data with the filters PFR 119,  STATIC TOF Field Emission Noise - SSL is working to close PFR 124, LASP LPW Cold Anomaly – LASP EUV - Ready to close - FRB

  11. PFR ECN Tracking PFRs, ECNs

  12. Configuration Control Instrument and Box Level Master sheet Assembly Subsystem Components Cognizant Engineers Serial Numbers and Designators: F1, F2, Spare. Rev Level AS-BUILT Schematics, AS-BUILT BOMs, AS-BUILT Assembly Instructions Master Binder for ECN, PFR, Waiver, MUA (all available electronically)

  13. SMA – SPR-SCR System

  14. Data Bases – Parts, Materials Approved no issues

  15. Data Bases – Alerts and GIDEP Approved no issues

  16. GIDEP Alerts & Problem Advisories As of 10/28/12, SSL SMA checked a quantity of 463 alerts As of 10/28/12, SSL SMA closed a quantity of 463 alerts Four (4) impact alerts were mitigated and closed Alert “051910 email from Oscar” Added a note to board drawings that “The use of brominated polyimide is unacceptable.” SMA produced PWA specification for MAVEN – SOW KE1-P-11-02, SOTA, solderable thin film MIL-PRF-55342 resistors were produced with defective end terminations. A) Date Codes not used. B) Additional inspections were implemented RS2-P-11-0, Microsemi, diode re-classified as ESD Class 0 – installed ESD class 0 workbench, device installed at JPL. NA-HQ-2012-001, Checked approx. 400 vendors, - no impact, used MFG authorized vendors only and received certs.

  17. FLT Travel Books FLT Travel Books

  18. SMA – Concerns & Observations Concerns – All concerns are well understood and are closely monitored by the SSL and GSFC QA teams. Pending – Expect two red flag PFRs (SWEA PFR 059 and PFR 122) – LM monitoring for both. Communications and working relationship of the experienced MAVEN PFP teams are excellent.
