ALMA Antenna EMC Integration in Chile: Design, Manufacture, and Transport

This project involves designing, manufacturing, and integrating ALMA antennas on-site in Chile with a focus on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). The preliminary EMC Control Plan has been completed and shared with Consortium Members for feedback before submission to ESO. An EMC Spec aligned with ESO requirements has been drafted for ensuring compliance and traceability, supporting procurement activities. The EMC Control Plan is developed based on prototype data from AAS-I and inputs from previous project meetings, to be continuously updated as the electrical design progresses.

  1. Design, Manufacture, Transport and Integration on-site in Chile of ALMA Antennas • EMC • PM#06 Mainz – 18/19 July 2006

  2. EMC • The preliminary EMC Control Plan has been completed and has been distributed to Consortium Members for comments before delivery to ESO • An EMC Spec has been prepared, based on ESO EMC requirements, in order to complete the Lower Level Specs issued by EIE and has been distributed to Consortium Members for comments. The aim is to support procurement activities and allow a proper traceability of ESO EMC requirements verification before delivery to ESO • The EMC Control Plan is based on prototype data available at AAS-I complemented with the information extracted from the presentations done at various PMs. The document will be updated as soon as the electrical design will be frozen.
