  2. General Letters • There are 8 books in General Letters. They are Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and Jude.

  3. Hebrews • Writer: Barnabas • When: A.D. 70 • Chapters: 13 Chapters • Theme: The superiority of Jesus.

  4. Characteristics • Portrait of Jesus Christ seen through the Old Testament • Superiority of Jesus over the prophets, angels, Moses and priests.

  5. James • Writer: James • When: A.D. 45 • Chapters: 9 Chapters: • Theme: Christianity in action.

  6. Characteristics • Reflect sermonic style of both Greek philosophers and Jewish rabbis.
