  1. HDB and TDB archiving at MAXlab Y.A.Gaponov, K.Larsson, P.Goryl, A.G.Persson

  2. Installation • TANGO control system v. 6.1.1.b and 7.1.1 • HDB and TDB archiving databases (MySQL v.5.0.32. and 5.1.10) • Archiving administration and data browsing software Mambo v1.5.1, EGiga v.1.6.6 beta.

  3. Usage • SR beam position monitoring at i811 beamline using HDB archiving was activated one year ago. • BPM data collection using TDB archiving is under testing and setting up.

  4. Administration part of Mambo (v1.5.1) application (subscribing device server attributes, starting/stopping the archiving) does not show any problem. In the case, when archiving database and Mambo application are running at different computers in some network and operating system circumstances data browser of Mambo application does not show the data. After pushing the “Refresh” button application becomes suspended.

  5. EGiga application (version 1.6.6 beta) works properly, but it is not so convenient for online monitoring purposes. To update the image it is necessary to click the button. While updating the data, regardless of data time interval, plot is updated for a quite long time (~5sec, network communication speed is 100Mbps-1Gbps). The range of output data is limited by one day.

  6. Conclusions • To collect device server attributes HDB and TDB archiving were activated at MAXlab for both beamline and storage ring purposes. • In general TANGO archiving tools can be used for archiving and browsing the data. • Simplified version of TANGO attribute archiving application (monitoring, archiving, browsing, exporting to some formats and printing out) would be very useful for beamline activities.
