    1. Pakistan Floods and Relief Ministry 2010

    2. Worst floods for 80 years! In late July it was clear that the annual monsoon rains were much heavier than usual. By early August the devastating floods had brought havoc to the north of the country. Over the next weeks the effect of the torrential downpours, particularly in the mountains were realised as flood-waters poured forth on the Indus plain down through the country.

    3. Hundreds of bridges destroyed

    4. The River Indus plain throughout the length of the country became flooded with water many miles wide in places

    5. Villagers and animals became marooned – many were washed away

    6. Mud homes were destroyed. Fortunate ones survived like this!

    7. Many fled just as they were, or with their next meal in hand!

    8. Some were in despair

    9. Village health centre flooded

    10. The only link to Jacobabad

    11. Makeshift bridges have helped some

    12. Villages and their landmarks have disappeared!

    13. Setting up home on a river levee

    14. Inhabited islands on a sea of floodwater

    15. Flooded mosque

    16. This is someone’s home!

    17. It could have been fun if all possessions were not lost!

    18. Squatters shacks nearly submerged

    19. Villages and river appear as one

    20. Escaping just and with great difficulty!

    25. Monsoon rain damage

    26. Levies have prevented more damage

    32. Ladies travelling home with supplies!

    33. House building aborted by the floods

    35. Home all awash!

    36. Villagers escaping with their animals

    37. They still need to eat!
