  3. Deflection as a function of force tests on carbon fiber/peek bracket • Peek Flexible brackets were machined at Yale; production brackets to be injection molded. • However, excellent uniformity among brackets and close to design value. • Peek’s tensile modulus depends upon its annealing. Raw material annealed identically before machining; if injection molded, should get uniform heat treatment and thus modulus.

  4. HV Multiplexing Have decided not to pursue SemiSouth. Unlikely anything can be done. CTO joined CREE. I’m pursuing three other possibilities: Fairchild SiC BJT. Negative is that it needs ~ 3V to drive (prefer < 2.5 V). Just got quote for 20 die. $2.23k ($115/ea). Will have to bite the bullet. Genesic Super Junction SiC (don’t know what super junction means yet) My contact has not been very useful yet in getting me information, but meanwhile some commercial parts now available through Mouser: we ordered three. Also requires ~3V to drive. Others can also buy these. Transphorm > 600V GaN JFET Private conversation reveals they may have a product that is potentially promising. I’m in the process of setting up an NDA before they will tell me more. They agreed to sell me die after an NDA is set up.

  5. HV Multiplexing Desy (Ingrid and Kerstin Tackmann) will get a student and want to help. Wrote list below

  6. HV Multiplexing I contacted Infineon. Product not yet ready. But I suspect SiC JFET needs -20V to turn off (fromwebsite). But potentially if a private contact is developed with this company they may have or be able to make enhancement mode??? Worth pursuing from Europe. Dear David Lynn, Thank you for your email. We regret having to tell you that we cannot provide the requested information, because the products have not been released yet. The requested products will be released late Q1 2013 together with datasheets and samples. We hope you find this information useful. Best regards, Infineon Technologies

  7. Other Electronics Phil Kuczewski will start making 4 PPB2s for LBNL starting next week. Maybe done in two weeks?? After that he will test GeneSic devices Mechanics Stave profile in brackets measurements just beginning. Will do warm and cooled down But as soon as LBNL facings arrive for DC-DC stave will switch to that. All parts ready at BNL. Yale provided foam-pipe.

  8. First pull tests
