R O M Â N I A MINISTERUL ECONOMIEI, COMERŢULUI ŞI MEDIULUI DE AFACERI ROMANIAN CLUSTERS MAPPING 2011 In Romania there are 19 innovative clusters (bottom-up) in various industrial sectors and till the end of 2011 other 5 clusters will be set up in aviation, renewable energies, maritime, automotive, furniture.

R O M Â N I A MINISTERUL ECONOMIEI, COMERŢULUI ŞI MEDIULUI DE AFACERI AGRO FOOD SECTOR • Some expectations of our innovative clusters to be provided within partnership events: • Development of joint initiatives on the global market • A regional sectoral cluster network integrating companies, R&D entities and local administration • Business opportunities and exchange of best practices • Jointly development of practical tools and solutions related to cluster strategy • Jointly access to EU innovation programs • Links between ADC project and Danube Strategy project • Definition of “cluster manager” profile and development of transnational cluster strategy etc

R O M Â N I A MINISTERUL ECONOMIEI, COMERŢULUI ŞI MEDIULUI DE AFACERI IDEAS FOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT • Measuring the economic impact of cluster policies and programs (the development, testing and validation of a methodology for assessing the impact of cluster policies and programs on the economic development of the ADC region). • The use of data and analysis as a tool for cluster policy (databases for benchmarking clusters; cluster based economic strategies) • Internationalisation of networks of clusters already created by the support of ADC project. • Exchange of best practices (economic missions) between innovative clusters of ADC region. • Support schemes for financing clusters and attracting Foreign Direct Investment in clusters. • Methodologies of benchmarking of clusters and models of strategies for clusters. • Training programs for cluster management. • Business opportunities between clusters • Transnational cooperation by extinding the ADC area to Republic Moldova where is potential for clusters in agro-food, vines, textiles, ITC etc • Joint participation in projects financed/co-financed by EU and by other donors
