  1. Week 11- Movement of Chairs Lead by Miss Sebastian Art Dramatic Play This week the children participated in several art activities surrounding chairs! One activity consisted of decorating wooden chairs! The children used paint, glue, glitter, feathers, and other materials to create two beautiful chairs that will be displayed in the classroom! Circle Time This week the children used their imagination at the CSC Beauty Salon and Barbershop! Children styled their friends hair and used beauty supplies to create a new look! This week the children heard stories that referenced chairs and their many functions! The children enjoyed listening to “My Chair” which talked about a young boy and his favorite chair. The children sang and danced to “Here Sits The Monkey” and “Raggedy, Raggedy Are We” this week. Gross Motor Discovery Table This week the children had the opportunity to play musical chairs and practice chair exercises for gross motor! In this picture you can see some of the children practicing doing chair leg lifts! This week the discovery table held different materials that chairs can be made from. Fabric, wooden pieces, and plastic tubes were available for the children to explore, as well as cotton balls that represented the internal makings of a chair and doll house toys for pretend play. Take Home Activity This week the children brought in pictures of their favorite place to sit! Each child was able to share their picture at circle time. Small Group This week small group focused on writing skills. One activity consisted of the children matching chairs with the words that describe them. For another activity the children drew pictures of their favorite place to sit and practiced writing about it. Andrew is working on matching chairs with me!
