  2. CSR COMMITMENT Social obligations in our Articles of Association Pursuant to a Special Resolution passed at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on January 21, 1971, Article 3A was added to the Company’s Articles of Association highlighting Social Responsibilities of the Company.

Challenges • Land ownership is less than 1 hectare • Heavy dependency on fertilizer and pesticide • Agriculture is not seen as profitable business venture • Farmers have stopped listening to nature • Human-Animal conflict • Falling quality of foods • Low Income levels • Reaching to the poorest of the Poor

Results • PADDY CULTIVATION • Production has gone to avg of 38bags from present 28 bags • Cost of cultivation is down by 30% • VEGETABLE • Avg earning of Rs.1.25lakh from an acre • Quality of vegetable (softness, shine, taste, colour) • Vegetable waste are edible for both human and animal consumption • CROP DIVERSIFICATION • Shift from paddy to fruits

Future • SFAC (Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium Farmers Federation) • We have presently are working with 33 FIG (Farmer Interest Group) with membership of around 400 farmers • Develop Capacities of VLEs (Village level Entrepreneurs) – 4 each in a village • Marketing of products including Organic Certification • Commercialization of IPM and INM products • Convergence with Government programmes

  14. Beneficiary Speak This is 2nd year of Banana Cultivation in my 1acre of land. Previously I used to cultivate only rice. I have earned 1.5lakhs this year an increase of Rs 0.5Lakh compared to previous year. I am now better equipped, have invested in drip irrigation and have the confidence of trying more advance methods. We have built a structure with drip lines for maintaining temperature and humidity.   15. Beneficiary Speak I attended farmers training in the village along with my neighbour. The training was on System Intensification of Rice and how better cultivation can be done using organic fertilizer and pesticide. I called them to field and they gave me demo also. I have saved Rs. 12k in input cost and this year have cultivated 38 bags (50Kg) instead of my regular 28 bags. Surendra Bhoi, 38 yrs Badmal, Bargarh I am practicing integrated pest management and Integrated Nutrient management techniques in my vegetable field. The output is very much encouraging and the vegetable tastes good. Am not afraid of feeding the waste to my cattle's.   16. Beneficiary Speak The growth rate of chicks is impressive. I don’t have to take much care. I leave them in the morning and give grain once in the evening. The team provide the vaccination and checks their growth in between. With investment of Rs.1k I have made profit of Rs.1.5K in 3months period. I have again invested and brought 10 chicks. One day, I will have my own large poultry farm. Tarusahu, 36 yrs Nadipada, Dang village, Bardol Gram Panchayat I can see herd of goat and handful of money after six months. The method of rearing is very much helpful and frequent vet support assures me of my future. And with coming festival season I see money.
