  13. Who is eligible to participate? + + SCWI / IJECT

  14. SCWI Guideline on Graduates • Students who already have a secondary school diploma by the start of the dual credit are not eligible to participate in dual credit programs. (SCWI/CODE Funders) • Students with unique exceptionalities may be considered by the RPT. Inquiries are waitlisted until the RPT has a chance to review all data. Evidence that the student can succeed in a college environment must be provided. There are no guarantees and each request will be evaluated independently. • SCWI/CODE funders recommend that students with unique exceptionalities should be taking their first dual credit in their last year of high school.

  15. Students with an IEP • Details required on the DC Interest and Rationale Form and Approvals (page 2) • If a student requires a comprehensive set of accommodations, we need to know before the students is accepted in the course so we can verify the accommodations can be met. Need details here and in space below or to the right A note saying: “Call me” would be a useful red flag too

  16. Trades/ Level 1 dual credit seats • 2019-20 seats in Hairstyling and Cook • Participation rate keeps decreasing in Level 1 dual credit projects • Provincial focus moving forward and the May 2019 SCWI Symposium in Toronto is focusing on Pathways to Skilled Trades • Discussion: What is your board’s most successful activity to encourage students to consider a career in the skilled trades?
