  3. Simulation Training: Demonstration Let’s take a look at what we are actually talking about…

  4. Simulation Training: What’s It All About… The simulations are opened in Internet Explorer but you do not need internet connection Courses are created and displayed on the left hand side. This is known as the ‘course tree’ There are various different modes available in UPK. See It Try It Know It Do It Print It Select a mode and follow the instructions. Expand and Minimise the sections using the plus and minus icons

  5. The Modes… SEE IT Watch as the program takes you through the whole process from start to finish while you sit back and take it all in TRY IT Using on screen instructions, you take yourself through the process clicking the buttons, entering the text etc until you reach the end Think you know it all? Try it out in test mode as you move through the process with little on screen help. You’ll have to remember the buttons to press and you’ll be given a score at the end to mark your progress KNOW IT DO IT A small pop up acts as a guidance alongside the real system you are using to show you the steps as you copy them for real PRINT IT Simple: A print out of the steps made in the process

  6. The application… • Screens taken from a real live copy of the system • Contains real data • Automatically generated text for all simulationinstructions • Automated translation into standard languages • Screens can be taken from anywhere: Google, Desktop, Sales Solution… Screens recorded easily as you complete process in local systems • No messy print screen and paste • Set of process steps created automatically as you capture your steps

  7. The development process… • Access provided to the Development Team by Client to the required systems and technology • Client provides context and knowledge of requirements to Project Management and Development Teams • Project Management Team defines a plan • Development Team creates simulations • Development and Client Teams meet regularly to clarify and resolve design queries • Project Management Team works closely with Client Team to set expectations and manage risks, issues and impacts to timeline • Project Management Team works closely with Development Team to minimise risk, issues and uncertainties and to ensure timely delivery

  8. The roles… Client Team • Experts in the subject matter and industry needs • Direction into content • Review • Validation and Sign Off Development Team • Experts in the simulation tool • Develop required content • React to necessary changes • Engage with Client and Project Management team Project Management Team • Experts in project management and client engagement • Develop knowledge of client requirements • Define and proactively manage the plans • Resolve / mitigate risks and issues • Link between Client and Development Team

  9. Let’s have some fun… Fancy yourself as a trainer…

  10. By developing higher levels of cognition... Judgment Evaluation Synthesis “…now she understands what she is doing and why, before it was just a rote exercise…” - GE Finance Manager “Learning by Doing” Average Test Score: 94% Bloom's Taxonomy Analysis Application Comprehension Instructor-led Average Test Score: 64% Knowledge Presentation-Based Performance-Based Delivery Approach Source: GE FMP Test Score Results …with higher levels of retention 100 90% 90 75% 80 70 60 50% % Retention 50 40 30% 20% 30 10% 20 5% 10 Lecture Reading DiscussionGroup Learn byDoing TeachingOthers AudioVisual CBT How might simulations benefit my company? • Accenture’s Application Simulation training solutions replicate the system in a blended learning format • Multiple stages are built into the Application Simulation component (“Show It”, “Try It”, “Know It” and “Print It”) which challenge the learner to “Learn By Doing” • The Application Simulations can be integrated into the flow of an instructor-led course to aid enable face-to-face instruction on conceptual, process and application skills simultaneously • Application Simulation enables learners to test drive the system in a safe environment • Accenture has found that performance based solutions (such as Application Simulation) develop higher proficiency and have higher levels of knowledge retention than other types of learning • Application Simulation solutions can also be used as refresher training as stand alone modules.

  11. Simulations and presentations are very good, making the exercises very helpful as well. Turkey The training method of a combination of theory and practice is helpful and impressive China It was very good that it was interactive most of the time. Turkey 95% of attendees felt simulations were a great way to navigate Quattro. China Excellent work. Training material is really good and gives great support for trainers Project Lead, Nordic Credentials

  12. Other digital assets for training… • Sandbox environment • Effectively a copy of the system that allows users to safely navigate back and forth and use the copy identical to how they would a live production system. This is supported by textual help and can be animated with a virtual classroom trainer • Computer based learning • A digital tool that asks questions, shows you the system, provides case studies via the web. This assesses your performance in the tests and provides an output of all the results
