  2. Periodic Reporting Purpose is to:

Results Management Plans • In Nordic and Baltic Europe: • Need for an adequate and sustainable management plan (12out of 21 sites do not have a management plan or consider that their management plan should be improved) • 8% of sites have no follow-up programme to prepare a specific management plan • 86% of sites do not have specific tourism management plans, • most of the sites are tourist destinations

Follow-up Recommendations Nordic meeting Helsinki 2007: • Name changes, OUV updates etc • Denmark updated Statement of OUV for two sites • Clarification of boundaries • Sweden currently updating buffer zones • Institutional memory • Operational Guidelines now available in Danish • Workshop on Management Plans • Denmark 20 April – 24 April 2009 • Planning • Legislation to be/has been updated in Sweden • National World Heritage Networks • Norwegian site managers established ‘Norges Verdensarv’

  5. Follow-up • Nordic-Baltic meeting scheduled for late 2009 to report on follow-up of PR • Next cycle of PR in Europe 2012, report 2014
