Research Into Costume, Hair and Makeup By Julia Jin
Lead Singer’s Costume: Experiment with Androgynry Combined with Riské Feminity Heavily inspired by Tom Ford’s subtle appoach to sex appeal. Less is more, keep it simple but sophistacated. Eg, masculine oversized blazer paired with subtle feminin touches as a black lace bra.
Lead Singer’s Hairstyle: Perfectly Imperfect“Slept on” blown out hair: salt water spray, volume products with hair sprayCreates this imperfectly put together model off-duty look (Kate Moss & Brigitte Bardot)
Lead Singer’s Makeup: Sparkly dark coloured (blue or black) eye shadow – connotes to pop genre but not too obvious – fun, enegry. “Smuged” makeup to compliment the perfectly imperpect look – connotes to disorientation and constacts with music
Lead Singer’s alternate makeup: 90’s high fashion editorial inspiredReflects well on camera than looks off camera. More dramatic and visible as in the makeup look itself is not for emphasise the face but rather complimenting to the costume or set.
Lead Singer’s abract makeup: Silver, Disco & GlamourThe silver shimmer will reflect lighting in different directions and could use light to alter makeup effect.
Rapper’s Costume: ExessiveHer costume is focused on a statement jacket to as her lyrics contradicts the lead singer’s, therefore use exessive, but not over the top elements to signify the differenation – the authenticity.
Rapper’s Hairstyle: BraidsThese are preferred braiding styles inspired by Rihanna, although I would have to consult with Quadijah about this due to she would be the one making the decision.
Rapper Makeup: More Abstract To Symbolise Authenticity:The rapper’s lyrical lines contradicts the lead singer – discussion – more dramaticlly flared makeup represents honesty and seperation between the two.
