  3. Each year more than 500,000 women die from illness in pregnancy or childbirth - nearly all in poor countries To look after these mothers would cost $12 billion a year, This is the same as what we spend on perfume each year in Europe and the United States of America !!!

  6. 11 million children in Africa have lost at least one parent to HIV/AIDS Over 37.8 million people have the HIV virus. Over 20 million have already died In countries with high rates of HIV, most people will only live till they are 30 years old. 6 people die every minute When people have good food, medicine, and support, they can live healthy lives …… even if they have HIV

  14. “Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.”Nelson Mandela

  15. To give everyone in the world decent food and health care would cost $13 billion a year-Europe and the US spend $17 billion a year on pet food !!
