  4. The La Crosse County Solid Waste Department • Regional System • La Crosse, Buffalo, Trempealeau, Wabasha, Houston • Tons per year = 150,000 +/- • $’s per year = $9,000,000 • 10 people

  5. 2010 Disposal System Accomplishments Waste to Energy (WTE) • Xcel tonnage exceeded 73,000 tons • Renewable electricity for 10,000 homes

  6. 2010 Disposal System Accomplishments • Served 6,398 households and 524 businesses. • Disposed of over 550,000 pounds of waste. • Collecting controlled substances during special collections 4 times per year. • Wisconsin banned landfilling e-waste 9/1/11.
