  2. Symbols The Lotus- Primarily represents beauty and non-attachment. (Hinduism) The Eternal Knot- The intertwining of lines in the eternal knot is said to symbolize how everything is connected. (Buddhism) Bread and Wine - The bread and wine represent the body and blood of Christ. Often times people associate drinking wine or eating bread with being holy or doing something akin with God or Jesus. (Christianity) The Star of David- They also believed that the triangles represented humanity’s dual nature – good and evil (Judaism)

  3. Sacred Text The Vedas There are four Vedas, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Vedas are the primary texts of Hinduism.  (Hinduism) Qur'an- The Qur'an is the primary text of Islam, revealed to the Prophet Muhammed beginning in the year 610 C.E. (Islam) Bible- There is only one sacred text, the Bible and it contain only two major parts, the Old testament and the New Testament. The Tanakh- is the Hebrew Bible, the quintessential sacred text. The first five books of this comprise the Torah, the core sacred writings of the ancient Jews, traditionally written by Moses under divine inspiration. (Judaism)

  4. Saptapuri is the name given to the seven sacred cities associated with Hinduism in India. These seven holy cities are also referred as SaptaMokshaPuris and Seven Tirthas. The general belief is that by visiting these cities one escapes from endless cycle of births and deaths and attains ‘moksha.’ (Hinduism) Holy Cities The importance of Mecca for Muslims is inestimable. All Muslims, wherever they are on Earth, must make a pilgrimage to Mecca. (Islam) Jerusalem has been the holiest city in Judaism and the spiritual center of the Jewish people since the 10th century BC when the site was chosen during the lifetime of King David to be the location of the Holy Temple. (Judaism) Bethlehem is where Jesus Christ, who Christians believe to be the Son of God, was born. It is also the birthplace of King David. (Christianity)

  5. Religious Holiday Diwali("row of lights"), is a Hindu festival of lights lasting five days. For many Hindus, Diwali is also New Year's Eve. (Hinduism) Bodhi Day (Enlightenment Day) Bodhi Day honours the enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama . The day is observed in many ways, including prayer, meditation and teachings. (Buddhism) Chanukah -- the eight-day festival of light that begins on the eve of the 25th of the Jewish month of Kislev– celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, of purity over adulteration, of spirituality over materiality.(Judaism) Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ that is observed on December 25.
