  1. Welcome to UW-BC In 2006, a $6.4 million expansion/renovation project was completed which provided state-of-the-art science labs, high-tech classrooms, well-designed student activity spaces, and a comfortable student commons.

  2. The Commons is an area where students can study or just hangout. Public forums, awards presentations, contests, receptions and musical performances are also presented in this area.

  3. The Learning Center is located in Ritzinger Hall, just down the hallway from the Commons. It is one of the many computer labs located around campus. Students also come here to receive free tutoring in math and writing skills.

  4. Ritzinger Hall houses two biology labs, a green- house, chemistrylab, geography lab, physics lab, and prep areas along with ‘smart’ classrooms. As a result of the renovation, the science facilities all received state-of-the-art laboratory equipment along with a projection system, document camera, VCR/DVD player, and internet access.

  5. Fine Arts Building is located just west of Ritzinger Hall and houses the Music Room, Art Room, Joel Salter Art Gallery and the 300 seat Theatre. Recently, the lobby/art gallery area received a face lift and all new seating was installed in the Theatre.

  6. The Japanese Friendship Garden is located just across from the Fine Arts Building along the south wall of the Library. The garden was constructed in 1998 by three Japanese Master Gardeners. The 35’ x 40’ garden is filled with naturesymbolism and celebrates our longstanding relationship with Miharu, Japan.

  7. The Library houses a collection of more than 40,000 books, 90 periodicals, 500 DVDs, and 500 VHS tapes. It contains a computer lab with internet access, meeting rooms, study carrels, and the rental textbooks.

  8. The Student Center, located north of the Library, contains the Food Service, Osprey Room and Eagle’s Nest meeting areas, and student recreation area on the upper level. The lower level houses regular classrooms and all of the distance education classrooms.

  9. The Gymnasium, located east of the Student Center, is the site of Charger athletic competition in Women’s Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball and the intramural sports program. The Fitness Center is located in the Gym lobby and includes cardio equipment and weight machines.
