Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

  21. The Lamb with no defect • 1 Peter 1:18 - 19 18For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver.  19It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. • 1 Corinthians 5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

  22. Our Passover • Passover is a type of deliverance from the slavery of sin • It is the passing over of the death we deserve for our sins, because the blood of Christ has been applied to us by faith

  23. IV. Applying the Blood • A distinction is made – Exodus 11:7 • Loud wail though Egypt • Peaceful among the Israelites • The Lord makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites

  25. Applying, Appropriating, Pleading, the blood of Jesus – simply putting your trust in the completed work of his shed blood and the covenant established through his blood • John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

  26. 1 Corinthian 15:54-56 54Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
