  2. The history of football began in the era before Christ. You can see images of “football plots” in the tombs of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs.

  3. The Romans called the game “garpastum" which meant "handball". Thanks to the Roman conquerors the ball game became known on the British Isles

  4. There were no exact rules. The game was actually a fierce fighting which sometimes caused a death of a player.

  5. In 217 B.C. the English defeated the Roman team in football. The city of Derby where the game took place is now the name of important football matches.

  6. Sheffield was the first city in the world to organize a football club. It happened in 1857.

  7. "PrestonNorthEnd“ was a founder member of the English Football League in 1888 and the first English football champion.

  8. The English Premier League is now one of the most famous. The best Russian football players are invited to play in English clubs.
