Pearl fish /Sea Cucumber

  • Pearl fish spends day inside the intestines of the sea cucumber

  • At night the fish comes out of the sea cucumbers butt to eat small crustaceans

  • Pearl fish benefits by getting a safe place to live while the sea cucumber is not harmed (Abbott 2).

  • This relationship involves on member (the parasite) living and feeding off another organism (host). The health of the host can be affected over time, depending on the parasite how long it lives inside the host.

  • Mimic Octopus

    • Takes on shape of different animals

    • Mimics anything from sting ray to a Lionfish or a sea snake

    • Uses both batesian and aggressive mimicry because its mimicry is for defense and protection
