It performs basic tasks, such as recognizing input from the keyboard, sending output to the display screen, keeping track of files and directories on the disk, and controlling peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers.

  44. On the Side: $200 A round silver colored disk that comes with a large amount of information embedded and ready to use. It is a read-only disk. Some allow you to burn your own files to it as well or even write to it multiple times.
