CPN Update • March - Change of Committee at meeting in Berwick • April– Business meeting Bristol – recommended actions for CPN, setting up SG • May– Recommended actions for CPs (thanks Dorset, Scotland and Solent) • June– Discussions with MMO (ongoing) • July/August– CPN Logo design and finalising • September– Appointment of Intern • October – database, website and CPN meeting, work tasks for SG, Consultation responses • November– CPN meeting, ongoing intern work……..

Session 1: • What role is there for Coastal Partnerships and the CPN in the marine planning process? • Group(s) 1:East England Marine Planning Area - working with the MMOAddressing a range of issues: networks, resources, public participation, skills, information/data • Group(s) 2 :General discussion: Skills, staff resources, training and capacityWhat issues are there to address about skills, staff resources, training and capacity that CPs and CPN can help with? • Group(s) 3:General Discussion: Communications, public participation and networksWhat issues are there to address about communications, public participation and networks that CPs and the CPN can help with? • Group(s) 4:General discussion: Data, knowledge and informationWhat do we know about marine planning? What information will we need? What gaps in our understanding/knowledge are there? How can we manage this information?

Instructions for workshops: • Please allocate a scribe for your group • Work through the issues as your group sees them (we have given some areas you may wish to consider) and keep track of your discussion on the flip chart • Pick out Headline statements to feedback to the group at the end of your discussion • It would be helpful if you could arrange any points under the headings “Issues” “Challenges” “Opportunities”
