  2. What is the Sin? Matthew 5:27-28 • Seeing vs. looking. • James 1:14-15; II Sam. 11:2-5 • Looking to lust = adultery in the heart • This adultery is committed as long as one “looks to lust.”

  3. How do you prevent the sin? • Jesus requires purity of heart (thought) • Purity of thought requires control of our minds which requires a control of our bodies • Romans 1:21ff; 6:16; II Peter 2:6, 19 • Job 31:1, 7, 9; cf. II Peter 2:14 • Control of our bodies may require radical “surgery” • Matthew 5:29-30

  4. The consequences of failure • How serious is this? • Mt. 18:8-9; Col. 3:5; Gal. 2:20 • Whole body cast into hell • Mt. 8:36-37

  5. Those who are truly righteous will practice purity of heart.
