Alcoholism that is crippling is also known as high-functioning alcoholism. It's a term that describes someone who can't function because of their alcohol usage. Someone with severe alcoholism has been a long-term, heavy drinker whose body has been harmed by alcohol abuse. Drinking excessively might be harmful to your health. Between 2015 and 2019, excessive alcohol usage resulted in over 140,000 fatalities and 3.6 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) in the United States, reducing the lives of those who died by an average of 26 years. Furthermore, one out of every ten deaths among working-age adults aged 20 to 64 years was due to excessive drinking. Excessive alcohol use was expected to cost $249 billion in 2010, or $2.05 per drink. Slides 02
