  3. High School Partnerships • Private Schools • Public Schools with Interact Clubs RYE offers a diversity of pupil population and a broad cross-section of students

  4. Maintaining the Partnership • Visible on campus • Rotary Presentations Academic Achievement Awards to a local student Certificate of Participation awarded to the school principal @ a Rotary Meeting • Rotary signage - posters, pictures and descriptions of IB Students

  5. Know the School Counselors • Explain the Outbound Program • Alternative to entering a University • University bound student advantages: University credit for language proficiency Possibility of increased scholarships Broader University acceptance

Club & School Liaison • Maintaining the partnership is WORK • Select dedicated Rotarians as liaisons Alumni, Interact sponsors, parents of students, and faculty or staff members • Recruit faculty or staff to join your club • Number of School Partners = Number of GOOD Liaisons • Schools – 150 students to 1 IB student

  7. Hosting Students • Students hosted by students • Four – Five solid commitments from host students and families • Hosting Periods: 1 month + 2 more optional months = 3 months • After the first 2 weeks – Evaluation: Continue or the NEXT family is READY • Host Family stipends

  8. RYE Club Budget Per Student sponsored / hosted • OB Student Sponsorship Fee • Orientation and District Fees –OB / IB • Birthday, Christmas, Farewell Gifts • Student and Guest Meals • IB Student Stipend: $75.-$150. a month • Host Family Stipend: $75.-$150. a month Total: $2,200 - $3,900. US

  10. How Students Help Build Better Rotary Clubs R.A.C.E.

  11. R. Regular attendance by the student at meetings – adds interest.

  12. A. Add the student to the meeting agenda for monthly “Quick Talks”

  13. C. Circulate the student to eat and visit with different club members at meetings

  14. E. Each club member do ONE thing with the student during the year.
