  1. SoundConnect Excellent Specificiations Cost Effective Single channel Microphone Only Mains Only Output ± 20 dB (steps) of transducer sensitivity Nexus Single or multiple channels Computer Controllable Microphones or Accelerometers TEDS Compatible Mains or Batteries Output Normalized in 10 dB steps. 1V, 316mV, etc. SoundConnect™ vs. B&K Nexus

  2. Calibration with SoundConnect • Match Microphone Calibration settings to those of SoundConnect SoundConnect Gain Settings Microphone Type SoundCheck confirms that microphone is within spec

  3. Calibration with Nexus Enter “equivalent” Pre-gain, e.g. if microphone has 50mV/Pa sensitivity and output is set to 1V/Pa; pregain is 20log(1/.05) = 26 dB

  4. Calibration with Nexus Enter “nice” value for microphone sensitivity in Nexus, e.g. 100 mV/Pa • Enter same value in Nexus Output setting • Pre-gain is then 0 dB • Changes in Nexus output setting can be easily converted to pregain equivalents

  5. Alternatives to SoundConnect & Nexus • Listen SCM 1 & SCM 2 microphones and Simple Power Supply • No Pre-gain • Prepolarized Measurement Microphone/CCLD Preamplifier and Endevco 4416 Power Supply • 0 or 20 dB pre-gain
