  1. Several Uses of Helium Gas Industrial Applications The primary application for helium is inert protection gas for use in automatic welding. Other applications are that of Helium used as a pressurized gas in liquid propellants for rockets, in the mixture of Helium-Oxygen for divers, as the working fluid in gas-cooled nuclear reactors, and as the carrier gas for chemical analyses using gas chromatography. Helium is used in rocket propulsion in meteorology in cryogenics (as coolant, since liquid Helium is the coolest material); and in breathing operations under high pressure. Helium is used as the shielding gas for arc welding as it is non-reactive and allows a constant welding with a high thermal transfer, resulting in high working speeds. Helium is used as the shielding gas in the arc welding process for materials which are, at the welding temperature, contaminated and degraded by air or nitrogen. Helium may be used in lasers, as even at high temperatures, the gas does not bind to other elements or react. Helium low liquefaction point and very low solubility makes it perfect to mix with other gases for increased safety when diving, in medicine, space exploration, and more. Another quality of helium gas is that its liquefaction point is incredibly low, nearer absolute zero than that recorded for any other element, meaning that it can be used to make the lowest temperature operating coolant available. Helium Gas For Balloons In reality, though, using liquid helium for this purpose is not incredibly effective, and scientists are having difficulty keeping helium gas contained in its liquid form because of its superfluid properties. In addition to being used for Helium Gas for Balloons, whether it is for our pleasure or more thoughtful purposes like weather balloons, helium is used for extra applications that depend on the unique properties of helium.

  2. For reasonably large concentrations of instruments and research equipment using liquid helium, as would be found in major research universities, recovering and re-liquefying the gas by boiling it down can lower the use of helium. For instance, increased use of closed-cycle cooling would reduce the waste of helium from certain present practices whereby helium boil-off gas is used. For more: Where Can I Buy Helium
