  1. Helium Gas & Its Effects Of Inhalation As we all know, helium is a light gas. It is commonly used in balloons, airships. It is also found on Earth. In fact, our planet has Helium Gas & Its Effects Of Inhalation lots of it in the atmosphere. It's easy to mimic the high-pitched voices of children and cartoon characters by breathing helium into your lungs. When you take a breath full of helium into your lungs, it gets inside your body and reaches your vocal cords. The lighter than air gas causes these taut bands of muscle to loosen up and vibrate more quickly than usual causing that squeaky sound we've come to associate with speech under the influence of helium.
