  1. ENGLISH IIJANUARY 22nd Warm-up:Imagine what you would feel like after breaking up with the love of your life. Now, pretend that you are going to draw a symbolic picture of “Love”. Draw a picture of what “Love” would look like to you. If you don’t want to draw, you can describe what you would draw of “Love”. Example: You can draw love with a black eye.

  2. REMINDERS • Homework (due tomorrow): Finish annotations and worksheet for “48 Hours After You Left.”

  3. STANDARDS Literary Criticism 3.11 Evaluate the aesthetic qualities of style, including the impact of diction and figurative language on tone, mood, and theme, using the terminology of literary criticism. (Aesthetic approach)

  4. “48 HOURS AFTER YOU LEFT” Let’s go over the poem “48 Hours After You Left.” • First, let’s read through it twice. • Next, we’ll have someone paraphrase the poem (in 1-2 sentences, what’s going on?) • Then, I’ll pair your up to share annotations (don’t just grab their paper and copy their annotations; ask someone to explain their annotations with you. (If you didn’t get a stamp, you’ll have to sit quietly and work on annotations) • After, we’ll go through your annotations together.
