  4. OBJECTIVES • to make classroom teachers aware of ways of analyzing variables • how to translate these analyses into an eclectic approach to classroom teaching

  5. TEACHER’S ROLE • facilitate the understanding of the new language • not to rely on one specific “ best method” • to adapt and evolve methods • to be imaginative • to be energetic • to be willing to experiment

  6. THE VIEWS ON ECLECTICISM • Henry Sweet; • comprehensive and eclectic method • general principles Harold Palmer; • adopting every good idea • rejecting useless and harmful forms of work

  9. CONCLUSION • Eclecticism is a philosophical approach which derives ideas from • different sources. • There are many views on eclecticism. • Teachers have lots of responsibilities. • Dynamic teaching is emphasized. • It has both strengths and weaknesses.
