  12. FOLLOWER OF CHRIST Hear God’s word and keep it: • Listen, • then act

  13. MARTHA needs to: • Listen to God’s Word as well as: • Serve people • Without complaint

  14. JESUS doesn’t contrast: • Listening / Doing • Religious life / Lay life • Contemplative / Active

  15. OUR TASK Combine Mary and Martha • Listen and act: • read the Word of God • serve others
