  4. PROBLEMS & ISSUES • Bad condition of workers specially on PEZA; • Lack of Workers’ Rights Awareness; • Organizers’ awareness of ILO Conventions and some tools to be use in Organizing Techniques; • Familiarization on Labour Laws. • Collective Bargaining Agreement

  5. Target Groups: • 10 ALU Direct Organizers • 10 Local Union Officers

  6. Implementers : • Trainers who has the knowledge about ILS, the capacity to give a good example of organizing strategies; • ILO Trainers who has the knowledge on the structure of ILO; • Legal Dept. of ALU to discuss the Labour Laws

  8. Long Term Objectives: • To increase the current membership; • To build network of ALU union affiliates; • To strengthen the capacity of local affiliates for organizing by providing information/know-how • To develop linkage/access to DOLE.

Immediate Objectives: At the end of this project, the target group will be able to: • Conduct research and mapping of the target companies. • Frame/propose strategies for organizing • Train organisers from within the local affiliates • Organize at least one (1) company with minimum of 100 workers/trained organizer with CBA signed.

KEY OUTPUTS7DIRECT RESULTS: • Organizers and local affiliates who have the knowledge and skills on the research, laws and can set strategies in organizing and help the trade union deals with the difficulties in decreasing membership and less capacity to hired full time organizers who can organize workers within his/her area.

  11. 2. • Good examples of the organizing campaign that can work hand on hand with the organizers and will make a quality organizing.

  12. 3. • More workers are unionized, have knowledge about what are the ILO Conventions and Recommendations and have the same mind-set that would come out of more solidarity among themselves. Can do Solidarity Campaign either.

NOTE: • Monthly Report includes the number of memberships signed; • Quarterly Reports with Organizing Updates and recommendation of the Direct Organizers, evaluated by the Chief of Organizing Section and with the approval of the Area Vice President. • Annual Report With complete documents like Cert. of Creation, PCE, minutes of the hearing, CB proposals, etc.

INDICATORS: (Quality) • can conduct mapping and know how to make future strategies on the target companies. • Can conduct the meetings with 50% + 1 attendees from the target companies. • Should be from the local affiliates with direct organizer from the federation on the area and completed the workshop. • Can organize at least 1 company within the area.

  17. INDICATORS (Quantity) • Submit target companies with at least 100 to organize • Secure the 50% + 1 memberships of the target company within 2 months and 25% on the 3rd month. • 50% organizers from the local affiliates, 50% organizers direct from the federation
