  3. What’s the point of art? Impress friends or clients? Religious devotion? Contemplation? Decoration? An outlet for an artist’s emotions, ideas or opinions? Education: moral, cultural, political? Propaganda? To convey meaning or truth that cannot be conveyed in any other way? To cause an authentic aesthetic emotional response? All these definitions are possible, however, you could challenge some of them. Are there any definitions here you disagree with? Why? What definition do you most agree with? All the above definitions can be placed under broader purposes/value of art: MORAL UTILITY TRUTH
