  2. The Challenges • When did I last officiate a high school match? • What NFHS rules? They’re all the same. • Girls and boys play the same game, right? • Who needs a refresher on some rules/signals? • At least all of the players and coaches know the right rules • :-O

  3. What’s new with NFHS Rules? • Bobby pins are allowed • Colored panels on balls – not yet • Substitutions in succession • Release teams to benches before deciding set coin toss • Dried blood is not OK on uniforms

  4. What’s new with NFHS Rules? • The ball may be played with any part of the body • Head coaches may stand between rallies and during rallies

  5. Boys and Girls Play Differently • Athleticism • They can get to practically anything • Don’t not get too far ahead of the play • Non-standard techniques • Ugly is not illegal
