  2. The continuing education in University of Tartu • Continuing Education • University of Tartu offers a wide range of continuing education options. We offer approximately 1000 courses every year to approximately 21,000 participants.

  3. Lifelong Learning Principles: • University of Tartu follows the principles of lifelong learning and lifelong learning policies the European Union and the recommendations of the Council of Europe. • One new target group is elderly people, so-called dignified.

  4. University for the Dignified • Started in the 2010th In September. • Lectures and seminars are practical extending the horizons. • Everyone, who is aged 50+ is welcome at University for the Dignified. Condition for participation is interest in a topics. • University for the Dignified is supported by the City Council of Tartu and the Ministry of Education and Science. • Courses are very popular. • In 2010 250 participants attended the lectures, of whom 175 received a certificate. • The average age of participants was 70 years.

  5. University for the Dignified Topics: • Estonia and EU. • Finance, the euro. • Estonian Human Development Report. • Voluntary work. • Emotional tension and illness. • Social welfare. • Young and old people. etc. • Workshops: The computer skills. Lectures are free.
