Goals I • Develop economy and science by inspiring, organising and conducting works aimed at development of XBRL • Propagate the knowledge of XBRL language of business reporting within the territory of the Republic of Poland and outside its boundaries, • Undertake and reinforce other entities in their activities related to development and promotion of XBRL,

Goals II • Promote the knowledge of the current status and trends in changes in electronic reporting standards, • Contribute to improvement of the existing reporting standards, and especially electronic reporting standards, • Enable co-operation of the Association members within the above-specified scope of activities, • Support groups and organisations whose action goals are aligned to the goals and objectives of the Association.

Goals Implementation I • Initiate and organise conference, symposiums, speeches, seminars, and briefing meetings dedicated to the XBRL language, • Undertake efforts dedicated to the XBRL language in working groups, • Undertake group efforts to reinforce the XBRL language development and its promotion, conduct research, draft studies, evaluations, assessments, opinions, conclusions and solutions regarding the XBRL • Organise other educational and informative activities,

Goals Implementation II • Initiate scientific activities focused on the XBRL language, • Co-operate with self-government and government bodies, legal and natural persons, • Exchange experiences and co-operate with national and international organisations and institutions, • Present opinions on legal regulations, • Submit to state administration bodies motions and recommendations, • Participate in international conferences, seminars, working meetings.

Past Activities I • 25th of February 2005 - public conference on XBRL (SKwP and Poznań University of Economics), • 18th of April 2005 - round-table (the parties interested in forming the Polish Jurisdiction), • 22nd September 2005 - meeting of the representatives of all members (signing the Association “XBRL Polska” bylaws, agree on the form the association bodies and chairs of the working groups),

Past Activities II • 23rd of September 2005 - XBRL conference dedicated to the banking sector (with the Polish Banks Association the “XBRL Polska” Association), • 6th and 7th of October 2005 - first DWG meeting (DWG training and roadmap definition, as well as defining the first taxonomies to be built), • 7th of October 2005 - internal meeting with the Ministry of Justice and in the Central Statistical Office,

Past Activities III • 12th January 2006 - The Association “XBRL Polska” registered to the local Register Office in Warsaw • 24th of February 2006 - Working meeting with Inland Revenue (Framework of pilot project to submit financial reports to Inland Revenue), • February 2006 - two working meetings were organised in order to explain XBRL and the taxonomies framework, as well as discuss the potential use of XBRL in the project.

Current & Future Activities • The creation of a Polish XBRL taxonomy applicable to companies which report their annual accounts under the Polish GAAP • Facilitating the reporting of consolidated annual accounts under IAS/IFRS • Raising awareness about XBRL standard and current XBRL project in Poland • Close cooperation with regulatory bodies such as Ministry of Finance, Inland Revenue, and Companies House concerning taxonomies development.

  13. Corporate Identity - Legal Form • According to the act of the 7-th April 1989 “Prawo o stowarzyszeniach” /Dz. U. Nr 20, poz. 104 with later changes/ Association “XBRL Polska” is an independent not-for-profit association. • The Association is registered with no. 248935 and therefore is a legal entity.

  14. Neutral Third Party Facilitator • The neutral third party, namely Accountants’ Association in Poland (in Polish Stowarzyszenie Księgowych w Polsce – SKwP), facilitated the creation of association “XBRL Polska”.

  22. Domain Working Group • Domain working group (DWG) supports and facilitates initiatives promoting development of XBRL taxonomies. It is a major objective to persuade relevant regulators, public and private, to develop and take ownership of their taxonomies and to ensure that these are based on an overall coordinated taxonomy structure (taxonomy framework) that encourage reuse of overlapping elements.

Lessons learned - organisation • Make sure the Bylaws are along with the local and XII legal regulations • Choose a Champion that is committed and proactive • Consider that legal restrictions disable Public Authorities to become formally Supportive Member (alternative membership option) • Working Group members – active contributors • „What about regulators?”

Lessons learned - Taxonomy • Get the financial reporting experts at the first stage • Ensure XBRL expertise during the process • Create a working group of not more that 15 people • Build taxonomies framework (and create a roadmap) • Organise project management and deadlines • Ensure “Taxonomy Marketing”
