(h) For purposes of this article, the term "certificate of completion" means a document confirming that a student has completed a program or sequence of noncredit courses that prepares him or her to progress in a career path or to undertake degree-applicable or nondegree-applicable credit courses. The document must include the name of the certificate and the date awarded, be identified by a Taxonomy of Programs (T.O.P.) Code number and program discipline, identify the goal of the program, and list the courses completed by the student. Certificate of Completion

(i) For purposes of this article, the term "certificate of competency" means a document confirming that a student enrolled in a program or sequence of noncredit courses has demonstrated achievement of a set of competencies that prepares him or her to progress in a career path or to undertake degree-applicable or nondegree-applicable credit courses. The document must include the name of the certificate and the date awarded, be identified by a T.O.P. Code number and program discipline, and list the relevant competencies achieved by the student.     17. Indicate the primary noncredit eligibility category that leads to this certificate. Although you are allowed to select only one category, any combination of eligible courses may be listed to complete the certificate program Primary Type

Indicate one type of evidence of high employment potential Area of instruction is on a System Office approved list of Occupational Titles with High Employment Potential Areas as defined by the Employment Development Department (EDD) Current labor market or job availability data/research and identified data source are attached, with an explanation of how the data is verified. Short-term Vocational Programs Option 4a requirements – the college must select the most appropriate occupational title and code from the System Office approved drop-down list, which is also located at http://misweb.cccco.edu/programcourseinventory/ccc457/docs/edd_occupational_titles_list.xls. *If you select this option, the employment data must be verified by a local Labor Market Information Division (LMID) EDD consultant. The LMID EDD consultant can assist the college in (1) conducting research in the EDD or other databases to identify a parent category which may possibly be used to provide the data to validate the high employment potential for the occupation, and (2) developing independent surveys and/or other instruments to validate the high employment potential for the occupation. Option 4b requirements – the college must (1) upload Labor Market information, utilizing Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF formats; (2) provide an explanation of how data is verified; and (3) select the EDD consultant from the drop-down list that validated the data. The Single Point of Contact (SPOC) list of LMID Consultants is organized by each county and is also located at http://misweb.cccco.edu/programcourseinventory/ccc457/docs/LMI_Consultants.pdf. Provide a description and discussion of how the program will prepare the student for improved employability or job opportunities or to successfully complete college courses for a recognized career field, to complete an associate degree, or to transfer to a baccalaureate institution. Include a brief statement of (a) the need for the program, and (b) what the student is able to do at the completion of the program. Description

    24. Type the name of the certificate; check all boxes that apply; type the names in the spaces provided and submit a signature page for each certificate electronically. All certificates must be approved or pending approval by the local governing board.
