  1. Grade 2 Really wow! Issue One – Friday 8th February Term One Welcome back to another big year at Berwick Fields! The Grade Two children have been busy in their new classrooms getting acquainted with their new teachers and classmates. The children have been having lots of fun settling in and make new friends. The WOW newsletter will be presented each fortnight on the classroom blog – we encourage you to check out your child’s grade blog and add a comment! This can be found on the school website under the student zone tab. • Term One Reminders • Here are some important reminders for Term One: • Hats must be worn outside between September and May. • During this hot weather it is a good idea to bring a drink bottle filled with water each day. • School Photos will be on February 28th and March 1st this year. Specific dates for each class will be given closer to the time. • Swimming is not until Term Two for Grade Two students Take Home Readers On Monday your child will have brought home their first reader for the year. It is our expectation in Grade Two that the students read each night and record their reading in their blue school diary. The readers have been set at an easy level for your child so they can practise their fluency and independent reading. Encourage them to read aloud to family members and ask them questions about their reader. .Friday Picnic This Friday all the Grade Two classes will be getting together for a special picnic before lunchtime. This will be a great opportunity for students to catch up with friends from last year and make new friends amongst the year level. Students aren’t required to bring anything special, just their regular lunch and drink bottle. The Grade Two team - Amy, Sandi, Leanne, Alison A, Nicole, Lisa, Claire, Paul Meredith and Alison M
