  2. Date of birth And date of death • Aldus Manutius was born 1449 in Bassiano, Italy. • Adlus also know as “Aldus Manutius the Elder” died February 6th,1515 in Venice. *the picture behind is a dedication page from one of his first books written in italic typeface.

  3. Biography • Aldus, In his time was a printer, Publisher, and Typographer. He Was the first to produce many Greek and Latin classics printed in Pocket sized books. Later he became a famous founder of Aldine Press.

  4. Invented • Aldus Manutius Invented the Italic type which has had an effect on graphic design because it is a font that is commonly used today. *The picture in the background is the Aldine logo.
