Revision surgeries are susceptible to complications as the surgeons need to remove the original implant which would have got into the existing bone. Moreover, there is less bone left behind after the removal of the prosthesis. In some situations, a bone graft might be needed to support the new prosthesis. It adds support and stimulates the growth of new bone.
