  1. PBIS It’s all about pride! BE Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.

  2. OUR PBIS CORE VALUES The Mighty Mustang Says: • BE RESPONSIBLE • BE RESPECTFUL • BE SAFE

  3. What is PBIS? PBIS is: • a positive behavior management process to create safer and more effective schools. • a system of clear school wide expectations with consequences and incentives. • intervention when you need help. • recognition and celebration for your successes!

What does PBIS do for you? • Students are recognized and praised for positive behaviors. • gifts, opportunities to participate in special events, school supplies, materials, etc. • Students receive interventions to help them refocus their unsuccessful behaviors. • teacher-student conference, parent contact, reflections, parent conference, administrative referral.

  5. How Does PBIS Work? • All students follow the same set of rules and expectations throughout all areas in the building. • These rules and expectations are displayed as a matrix, which is posted in every hallway and classroom. • When students follow the rules and expectations, they are recognized. • When students do not follow the rules, there are planned consequences to help them get back on track.

  6. Remember! The Mighty Mustang says, “Be Respectful! Be Responsible! Be Safe!”

  7. What is a“Mustang Buck”?

  8. How can you earn “Mustang Bucks”? Students will be recognized for appropriate behaviors such as: • speaking in an appropriate tone of voice in class • walking on the right side of the hallway • waiting patiently in line in the cafeteria • being quiet and respectful during assembly • picking up litter without being told to do so • using outside equipment appropriately

  9. Who awards students with “Mustang Bucks”? All staff including: • teachers • substitute teachers • aides • main office staff • cafeteria staff • custodians

  10. Where will students spend their Mustang Bucks? At the Mustang Store! • Located in the Snack Stand in the Gym • Open one Wednesday a month during lunch recess • Items priced according to value

  11. Items students may purchase in the Mustang Store: • Sports Balls • Candy • Food & Drinks • Paint • Headphones • Jewelry • School Supplies • Games • Dry Erase Boards • Toys • Many more items not listed!
