Manually Add Items • You can add Items to the gradebook. • These will create a column in the grade book for you to enter grades Product Support - Darek Sady
Calculation Options • Items in the Gradebook can be exempted from grade calculations – this will affect your totals • Items in the Gradebook can be blocked from showing up to the students Product Support - Darek Sady
Manage Items • You can choose the order of the items in your Gradebook • Move items that you are working with closer to the names so that you don’t need to scroll Product Support - Darek Sady
Sorting Gradebook • You can click on the arrow above any column to sort that column. • Click the arrow again to sort in reverse Product Support - Darek Sady
Working with Tests • When you administer a test in BlackBoard, a column gets created for you • BlackBoard can grade the test (If it is Multiple Choice or True/False). ! Product Support - Darek Sady
Working with Tests • BlackBoard will let you grade the test by clicking on the ! • Make sure that you click the View Button to see your students work • Sometimes a student will need to retake a quiz – the attempt can be cleared by clicking the “Clear Attempt” button for that students attempt. Assigning Categories • You can assign gradable items to categories • This helps with weighting and organization Product Support - Darek Sady
Weight Grades • You can weight grades by category or type • You can assign categories or choose from those already listed Product Support - Darek Sady
More on Grade Weighting • If grade weighting is used, any entry without a grade is considered a 0. • This will significantly affect the weighted grade that the student sees • Usually, the weighted grade will not be correct until the end of the semester – when all grades have been entered.
