  1. Utah in general Utah was the 45th state admitted to the union on 4th January 1896. It is a western state in America. There are approximately2,76 million people living in Utah. Capitol of Utah is Salt Lake City.

  2. Religion Utah is one of the most religiously states in the Union.Approximately 60% of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints(Mormon Church). Half of the state is closed on Sundays due religious services.

  3. Traditions Some Uthans still uphold the tradition of having many wives, mostly in the southern area and they have traditional clothing there aswell. Their families are usually very large and wealthy. Mormons usually have family home evenings on Mondays.

  4. Education The University of Utah and Brigham Young Universty are the top universities of Utah and They are rival universities. The BYU mostly consists of mormons and UU is not as influenced by mormons.

  5. Politics The Mormon Church maintains an official policy of neutrality with regard to political parties and candidates. Utahs politics are quite conservative. The Utah’s government building is situated in Salt Lake City.

  6. Misc. Facts • There are no casinos in Utah. • There are large oil refining stations in Utah. • Utah also has the largest number of suicides yearly and prescription drug consumers. • Utah is a popular winter resort. • The Winter Olympic Games were held in Utah, in Salt Lake City. • Utah has a small amount of overweight people. • Utah doesn’t have a lot of air pollution.
