  3. LEADER What is LEADER? • Part of SRDP -£1.6 billion • LEADER accounts for 5% of the total SRDP allocation (£38m) • Promotes economic & community development within rural areas • Funding is awarded to Local Action Groups

  4. LEADER LEADER East Renfrewshire • Local Action Group – East Renfrewshire - 14 members + 1 Co-ordinator • Programme launched in April 2009 – 3 years • Rural Areas of East Renfrewshire: - Eaglesham - Waterfoot - Nesilton - Uplawmoor

  6. LEADER Eligibility • Who Can Apply? • Constituted Community Groups • Social Enterprises • Micro/Small Businesses • Voluntary Organisations • Public Sector Bodies • Individuals (with public support)

  7. LEADER Eligibility Continued… • Project must benefit rural areas / communities • Project should be based in the rural area* *exceptional circumstances may apply • Projects should fit the East Renfrewshire LEADER themes • Revitalising Communities • New Markets and Products
