  2. Early life • Juan was born in 1460. • He was born in Santervas, Spain. • He fought Muslims in Southern Spain.

  3. His expedition • Juan had 3 ships and about 200 men. • He was searching for the Fountain of Youth. • April 8th, he left to the South, known as the Gulf Stream.

  4. MIDLIFE • Juan sailed to Florida. • He named the land Pascua de Florida. • He sailed with Christopher Columbus.

  5. HIS 2ND EXPEDITION • His 2nd expedition was in 1493. • He went to the Caribbean Islands. • He took over the island of Bimini.

  6. HIS END LIFE • He was made governor of Higuey. • He was removed from office in 1511. • He died in 1521.
