  2. Introduction • Iam a student at Shinshu University. I am majoring in English linguistics. • The aim of this presentation is having everyone think about child abuse.

  3. Theme • Today, child abuse is increasing. Children who are treated badly will be seriously hurt in their heart. And they may ill-treat their children from their experiences, when they became parents. So, we should not absolutely treat children badly.

  4. 4 Types of Child Abuse 1. Mental abuse 2. Physical abuse 3. Sexual abuse 4. Neglect In most of the cases, mothers ill-treat their children physically (physical abuse)

  5. Why Does Child Abuse Occur? • Child abuse is easy to occur when dissatisfaction has grown in the mother’s mind. These mothers sometimes blow off by treating children badly. In this way, child abuse occurs.

  6. Causes of Mother’s Irritation 1. Difficulty of bringing up because of children’s nature e.g. crying violently during night 2. Isolation from the society I.e. when the mother doesn’t have friendship among her neighbors or her relatives 3. Unsuccessful of a parent–child relationship

  7. Unexpected Relevance Of Transition To Nuclear Family To Child Abuse Once, most families in Japan were made up of many persons — grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, and children. It is hard to live with father and mother-in-law, but there is good point. Mother can talk to grandmother, that is mother-in-law about child raising. Besides, mother can change her mood by talking with father-in-law and mother-in-law. But most of the families in Japan now are “nuclear family”. I think it has influence on child abuse.

  8. Importance of Asking For Advises It is important to talk about trouble in child raising with friends, or asking advises of seniors, without storing dissatisfactions up.

  9. Measures Against Child Abuse • Completion of consultative systems • To communicate with neighbors, friends possibility in order to get rid of stress of child raising • To find something by which a mother can change her mood e.g. listening to music
