  1. Tips and Advice for Choosing Plus Size Wedding Dresses The thing that stands out in any wedding is the dress, often the culmination of years of dreaming and planning. But choosing one can be challenging, especially if you do not fit into the conventionally-sized ones. Even though plus size wedding dresses are not easy to design and cannot be picked off a rack at a boutique, the ladies needing them deserve to be treated at par with the more petite ones. The downside of the wedding dress industry is the absence of body diversity in fashion. It’s time the designers expanded their horizon to include plus size wedding dresses.

  2. Wedding Dress Types For the plus size women, there are several options to choose from and look radiant and comfortable on the great day. Ballgown – The ball gown has the traditional fairy tale princess look and is synonymous with a feeling of royalty and unspoiled beauty. The main advantage here is that it is large and broad while being sensual too. The dress covers multiple areas of the body and this is an advantage for the plus size bride. Even though it is problematic for a small waist, it helps cover flab around the mid-riff. With a short sleeve dress, wear a plus size lace bolerojacket that covers the upper arm where the fat usually is.

  3. Tea Length – Covers of fashion magazines have gorgeous photos of women with tiny waists and slender legs wearing tea length wedding dresses. That is the root of the misconception that you have to be thin to wear them. But tea length wedding dresses of larger sizes look glamorous too apart from the high comfort level. Wear a comfortable skirt that flares out from the upper waist covering the hips and thighs perfectly. The top can be sleeveless but make sure to cover the upper arms with a plus size lace bolero. Mermaid type – This style can be magical for the bride. It has a unique curvy fit and a silhouette that flares out. However, the main problem here is that the form accentuates the stomach and the hips and so it might not suit plus-size women. There is a way out though if you insist on this type of wedding dress. Choose shape-wear and your tummy will get pulled in. Wear for a few weeks before the wedding to get used to it.

  4. Sheath type – This is another type of wedding dress generally intended for the slim women but goes well with the curvy plus-sizes too. The creations exude pure elegance and beauty and there are a lot of options to choose from. Select from vintage, beaded, backless, strapless, and chiffon designs. Casually put on an intricately woven plus size lace bolerojacket and you are ready for the most important day in your life.  You will not be short of choices when selecting plus-size wedding dresses.
