Definition of Oscilloscope Classes • Analog Real Time (ART) • An instrument that amplifies electrical signals and uses a display technology to represent them as waveforms • Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) • An instrument that digitizes electrical signals and post processes the data to construct a displayed waveform • Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO) • An instrument that digitizes electrical signals and displays, stores, and analyzes three dimensions of signal information in real time.
