Things to notice “filamentary” structure -Be jittery with the pencil, it’s not entirely necessary to be 100% accurate Blackened or darkened areas -Press hard, avoid smudging this with your fingers Sharp & well defined lines -Use the tip, avoid smudging unless there’s a gradient or object nearby Gradients Use the side of your pencil tip, and smudge with your finger to blend it all together
Depicting this in a sketch • Begin by drawing the basic outline of the cell or • region you’ve chosen • Draw in the gradients, smudge lightly to blend it • together • Draw in the interior

Towards the end… • Lighten all whiter areas, and darken all darker regions after the smudging process • The longer you spend on a single slide, the more detail you’ll catch, and the more accurately you’ll depict it on paper
