Intended learning outcomes • Create (in duets) a ‘Chase’ motif which communicates a message to an audience • Perform (in duets) a ‘Chase’ motif and receive feedback which will help you improve your performance • Refine (in duets) your ‘chase’ motif so that you improve the performance quality of the section.

  4. Create your ‘Chase’ motif • You have 8 x 4 counts to create your ‘Chase’ motif. Remember the dance idea • Dancer A is the graffiti artist. Dancer B is the police officer who has seen the crime. • The dynamics of the section should be fast and explosive. • There might be some moments of stillness when Dancer A is hiding.

  5. Team up with another pair and perform your duet to each other • Give the performers feedback on their: • Do you understand what is happening in this section of Dance?

  6. Now use the rest of the time in today’s lesson to make any changes to your performance to improve it (Refine) You also need to link your new section (4) to the previous three sections. Graffiti Streets Dance Structure Section 1 – ‘Entrance’ (8 x 4 counts) Section 2 – ‘TAG motif’ (4 x 4 counts) Section 3 – ‘Uh-oh motif’ (4 x 4 counts) Section 4 – ‘The Chase’ motif (8 x 4 counts)

  7. How did I do today? • In your duets come up with 5 things which are important to consider when you are creating your own section of a dance. • Now team up with another pair and COMPARE your answers. Do you have any similar answers? Do you have any different ones?

  8. Extended Learning • You now need to begin to create your leaflet which warns young people about the dangers of gangs and street crime. • Your leaflet can be created using a computer or you can draw it and colour it in yourself. • You have two weeks to complete your leaflet.
